Kari Gabriel, started judo at 8 years old in Missoula, MT in 1981. Kari's passion for judo lead to her moving to Colorado in 1987 to persue a professional judo career. She continued her training at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.
In Kari's first year, she reached the #1 rank Nationally in her junior weight class division. By 16, she accomplished the same #1 rank in the senior division.
Kari continued to train and compete as an elite competitor globally for 17 years. Along the way picking up 14 National Championship titles, Pan Am Champion, and several world cup medals. Kari also had the opportunity to be an alternate for Team USA during the 1992 Summer Olympics.
Kari now leads the youth and adult team at Hyland Hills Judo in Westminster Colorado. She has been recognized as one top coaches in the United States for 21 years. Producing several National and International #1 and high ranked athletes.
